Tale of Ngu hanh mountain

Once upon a time, an old man lived alone in a hut by the seaside that nobody knew why he lived and how long he had lived at there.
One day, the sea became angry, the sky was getting dark. Hours later, a big long dragon went from the sea up to seaside, crept on the sands and left snaky lines on ground. Wind blew crazy, brought sands shotting any where, made the old man’s hut feel to ruin. At last after a roar, the dragon had born an egg lying by the hut. The dragon left after that.

Seconds later, a gold big turtle swam to seaside. It hid the egg under sands and crept to front of the men and said:
“I am a God Turtle. I want you to protect offspring of God Dragon, the king of all animals living in the water.
“It is out of my ability” said the old man.
The Turtle gave old man a claw and said: “You should bring this claw so whenever you are in danger put it in you ear, I will come to help you.”
“Yesss, I will try my best” he replied.
One day, a wagon was pulled buffaloes ran crazy toward where the egg lying. He hinted to soldiers sitting on the wagon to change direction but it didn’t happen. He put the claw into his ears hurriedly. A voice appeared into his ear “lie down, lie down!” When he had just lain down he was transformed in to a big tiger. Soldiers had seen and change their direction.
The old man removed his hut to place on the egg that it can protect it. The egg was bigger and bigger making sand grew then exitted out of sands so the old man had to cover it by more sands but did no much that a day, it was bigger to make the ground grow up and up until his hut touch in sky. Although the egg now too large for him, he still took care it by his best. He cut twigs and branches to cover the egg but the egg still grew not only higher but also wider. Eggshell appeared some color as green, red, yellow and was sparkling like a giant jewel.
One day, his hut was fired by a scoundrel. He put the claw into his ear to demand the God Turtle. A cave appeared in the egg with bed and blanket ready to use. He went to bed and had long years sleep. While he was taking a nap, a girl appeared by his bed. She drank milk flowing from cliff in the cave and grew up so fast. Although he slept, she still was not alone that monkeys brought fruit to her and birds gave her cotton to make clother. When old men woke up, he was very surprised because front of his face was a beautiful lady. She said,”I have heard your breath for 15 years. I am very happy when you wake up, father”. He realized the egg now had transformed into a stone mountain with many trees and animals covering. He put the claw quickly into his ear and God Turtle ,one more time, talked you what to do. He led the girl to left the cave. He now had to teach her all things. Day bay day, not only many birds and animal but also herd came and surrounded them.
One day, soldiers nobody knew where they come from surrounded the mountain and wanted to arrest them but the claw made them dead without a word. A big flame surrounded them and none of them could escape. People who lived arround felt mystery that moutain appeared suddenly. They thought they were fairies so they often came to pray medicines. . She took some red, green stone and threw around her seat. From those stone appeared plants their flowers had 5 petals. That was used to treat malaria. The plant was named “Tứ Quý”. The news was spread so anyone also had known a kind, beautiful fairies
The news came to King’s ears so he forced his soldiers to bring gifts to propose. Soldiers came and saw an old man and a young girl was playing chess. They told politely and gave gifts and King’s letter to them. When the old man still did know what to do the God Turtle appeared from the sea, crept to seaside and said to the man that God Dragon had agreed to let his daughter marry with the King. The girl left and the man also mounted on God Turtle’ back to leave.
Now day, that mountain still exists. It is the most beautiful moutain by seaside in Quảng Nam province. It was named “Ngũ Hành”

Gorgon

In Greek mythology, a Gorgon  is a mythical creature portrayed in ancient Greek literature. While descriptions of Gorgons vary across Greek literature and occur in the earliest examples of Greek literature, the term commonly refers to any of three sisters who had hair made of living, venomous snakes, as well as a horrifying visage that turned those who beheld her to stone. Traditionally, while two of the Gorgons were immortal, Stheno and Euryale, their sister Medusa was not and she was slain by the demigod and hero Perseus. The large Gorgon eyes, as well as Athena 's "flashing" eyes, are symbols termed "the divine eyes" by Gimbutas (who did not originate the perception); they appear also in Athena's sacred bird, the owl. They may be represented by spirals, wheels, concentric circles, swastikas, firewheels, and other images. Anyone who would gaze into their eyes would be turned to stone instantly. Scylla And Nisus

MINOS was the first king to control the Mediterranean Sea, which he cleared of pirates, and in Crete ruled over ninety cities. When the Athenians had murdered his son Androgeus, he decided to take vengeance on them, and sailed around the Aegean collecting ships and armed levies. Some islanders agreed to help him, some refused. Siphnos yielded to him by the Princess Arne, whom he bribed with gold; the gods changed her into a jackdaw which loves gold and all things that glitter. He made an alliance with the people of Anaphe, but rebuffed by King Aeacus of Aegina and departed, swearing revenge. Aeacus then answered an appeal from Cephalus to join the Athenians against Minos . b. Meanwhile, Minos was partying the Isthmus of Corinth. He laid siege to Nisa, ruled by Nisus the Egyptian, who had a daughter name Scylla. A tower stood in the city, built by Apollo [and Poseidon ?], an at its foot lay a musical stone which, if pebbles were dropped upon from above, rang like a lyre-because Ap...

Sisyphus

SISYPHUS, son of Aeolus, married Atlas ’s daughter Merope, the Pleiad, who bore him Glaucus , Ornytion , and Sinon, and owned a fine herd of cattle on the Isthmus of Corinth. b. Near him lived Autolycus , son of Chione , whose twin-brother Philammon was begotten by Apollo , though Autolycus himself claimed Hermes as his father. c. Now, Autolycus was a past master in theft, Hermes having given him the power of metamorphosing whatever beasts he stole, from horned to unhorned, or from black to white, and contrariwise. Thus although Sisyphus noticed that his own herds grew steadily smaller while those of Autolycus increased, he was unable at first to accuse him of theft; and therefore, one day, engraved the inside of all his cattle’s hooves with the monogram SS or, some say, with the words ‘Stolen by Autolycus’. That night Autolycus helped himself as usually and at dawn hoof-prints along the road provided Sisyphus with sufficient evidence to summon neighbours in witness of the th...
